Items
Items are the individual pieces of equipment, stock, or assets your organisation tracks in Inventory. Each item has a name, category, quantity, and optional asset tag or serial number.
Where Items fit
| Area | How Items are used |

| Prep Sheets | Items are added to prep sheets and scanned out for jobs. |
| Containers | Items can be packed into containers. |
| Sub-hire | Items can be recorded as on hire from a third party. |
| Suppliers | Item records can point back to the supplier they normally come from. |
Create an item
- Go to Inventory → New Item.
- Enter the item name.
- Choose a category.
- Set the quantity.
- Add an asset tag or description if needed.
- Choose the warehouse the item belongs to.
- Save the item.
Find an item
- Go to Inventory → Overview.
- Use the search bar to find by name, asset tag, or description.
- Use the filters to narrow by category or warehouse.
- Click the item to open its detail page.
Edit an item
- Open the item from the overview.
- Click Edit.
- Update the fields.
- Save the changes.
Things to know
- Items with serial numbers track each unit individually.
- Consumable items can have a low stock threshold that triggers an alert.
- Item movements are logged automatically when items are scanned in or out.
