Payment File Templates

Payment file templates are the saved output formats used when your team generates payment files. They control the row layout, filename pattern, delimiter, and the columns that appear in each export.

Create a payment file template

  1. Go to Purchasing → Payment File Templates.
  2. Click Create Template.
  3. Enter the template name.
  4. Add a description if needed.
  5. Choose whether the template should use aggregated rows or line-level rows.
  6. Set the filename pattern.
  7. Choose whether the template should be export-once only.
  8. Click Create.

Edit a payment file template

  1. Go to Purchasing → Payment File Templates.
  2. Open the template you want to change.
  3. Update the name, delimiter, row mode, filename pattern, or status.
  4. Review the Output Columns table.
  5. Add, remove, reorder, or disable columns as needed.
  6. Click Save Template.

Delete a payment file template

  1. Open the template.
  2. Click Delete Template.
  3. Confirm the change.

Things to know

  • A template can be active or inactive.
  • Static columns can be added when a file format needs a fixed value in every row.
  • Export-once templates are designed to stop the same lines being exported repeatedly through that template.
