Push Notifications on iPhone and iPad
Push notifications on iPhone and iPad work differently from desktop and Android. To receive them in OpsOS, you need to use Safari and add OpsOS to your Home Screen first.
What you need
- An iPhone or iPad running iOS 16.4 or later
- Safari
- OpsOS added to your Home Screen
If you open OpsOS in Safari without adding it to your Home Screen, push notifications will not work.
Add OpsOS to your Home Screen
- Open OpsOS in Safari.
- Tap the Share button.
- Tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add.
- Open OpsOS again from the new Home Screen icon.
Turn on push notifications
- Open OpsOS from your Home Screen.
- Go to Shift Notifications.
- Click Enable push.
- Allow notifications when your device asks.
Once push is active on that device, you can also use Send test notification to check what it looks like.
Things to know
- Chrome and Firefox on iPhone and iPad do not support OpsOS push notifications. Use Safari.
- If your phone or tablet is on an older iOS version, push notifications are not available.
- Push is turned on per device. If you use OpsOS on more than one device, turn it on separately on each one.
- If you stop seeing alerts, open Shift Notifications again and check whether push is still active on that device.
